Muslim Scout Family Serving Community and Nation

Priscilla Martinez, Cub Scout Den Leader for Pack 1576 and Troop Committee Chairwoman for Troop 786 of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society Scouting Program,  has a family of Scouts in Venturing, Boy Scouts, and Cub Scouts.  She and her family along with many other Scouts in the Northern Virginia Community she lives in, participated in many programs during Ramadan.

Their kids sell Girl Scout cookies, their parents volunteer in the community, and their families celebrate the Fourth of July. Like most Americans, Muslims are trying to live a "normal" life. But in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, the Islamic community in the US has been subjected to hateful insults and stereotypes they are still working to overcome.
